Recovery is Possible
Outpatient Anxiety Treatment at The ARTS
Anxiety isn’t just about feeling nervous before a big presentation or worrying about a specific life event. For millions of people, anxiety is a constant, hum-like static that interferes with daily happiness, work performance, and relationships. It can manifest as physical symptoms, racing thoughts, or an overwhelming sense of dread that makes leaving the house feel like climbing a mountain.
While anxiety can feel permanent, it is highly treatable. Recovery doesn’t always require stepping away from your life for a month-long hospital stay. At Absolute Recovery Therapeutic Solutions (The ARTS) in Canoga Park, CA, we specialize in outpatient anxiety treatment that fits into your life rather than disrupting it. Through our immersive Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Outpatient (OP) services, and virtual telehealth options, we provide the tools necessary to silence the noise and help you succeed.
Partial Hospitalization
Our PHP programs offers clients highly individualized care by our clinical staff to begin the recovery process.
Intensive Outpatient
Our Intensive Outpatient provides extra care for those who have just begun their sobriety and need extra help.
Outpatient
Our Outpatient Program is highly effective at teaching skills needed to stay and remain sober.

Why Choose Outpatient Anxiety Treatment?
When seeking help, many people assume their only options are weekly therapy sessions or full residential rehab. Outpatient treatment bridges this gap, offering a structured, intensive level of care that allows you to maintain your connection to the outside world.
Healing in the Real World
We know anxiety can be debilitating, which is why we encourage our clients to engage in PHP, IOP, or OP levels of care. One of the distinct advantages of outpatient treatment compared to inpatient care is the ability to practice recovery skills in real-time. Being able to practice skills and complete homework assignments is essential for anxiety treatments like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).
In a residential setting, you are often shielded from the triggers of daily life. While this break is sometimes necessary, it can make the transition back home difficult. Outpatient care allows you to learn coping mechanisms during the day and apply them immediately to your evening interactions, work stressors, or family dynamics. You process these real-world experiences with your therapists the very next day, allowing for faster, more practical integration of coping strategies.
Flexibility for Your Lifestyle
Recovery shouldn’t cost you your career or your education. We understand that many of our clients have obligations they cannot pause. To accommodate this, The ARTS offers flexible scheduling, including two evening virtual intensive outpatient treatment programs during:
- East Coast VIOP: Mon. Tues. Thurs. 3-5:45 (PST)
- West Coast VIOP: Mon. Wed. Thurs. 6-8:45 (PST)
These virtual options provide critical opportunities to practice anxiety recovery skills outside of the treatment center, ensuring you have support regardless of your physical location or time constraints. Virtual IOPs like ours are proven to be as effective as in-person mental health care, making it an excellent choice for busy clients.
Accessible and Cost-Effective Care
Cost is often cited as the primary barrier to mental health treatment. Outpatient anxiety treatment programs are generally more cost-effective than residential stays because they do not include the costs of room and board.
We believe that financial stress should not prevent you from getting the help you need. The ARTS accepts most PPO insurance plans to make treatment as accessible as possible. We are proud to accept:
- Tri-Care West
- Magellan
- Blue Shield
- Com Psych
- HMC
- First Health

What We Offer
Evidence-Based Therapies for Lasting Relief
Anxiety is complex, and what works for one person may not work for another. That is why our comprehensive program features two distinct tracks: a primary mental health track and a dual diagnosis track for those managing substance use issues alongside their anxiety. We utilize evidence-based approaches designed to rewire how the brain processes fear and stress.
CBT is widely considered the gold standard for anxiety treatment. It operates on the understanding that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. During sessions, you learn to identify the negative thought patterns (distortions) that fuel your anxiety. By challenging these thoughts and replacing them with more realistic ones, you can change your emotional response to stressors.
Avoidance is a common symptom of anxiety, but it often makes the fear stronger over time. Exposure therapy involves gradually and safely facing the situations, objects, or thoughts that trigger anxiety. Under the guidance of our clinical staff, you build tolerance and learn that you can handle uncomfortable feelings without harmful consequences.
For those with trauma, our eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy helps process traumatic memories, allowing you to heal from the distressing emotions associated with them. EMDR has been shown to be effective in reducing symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
Anxiety often lives in the future—worrying about “what if.” Mindfulness pulls you back to the present. Through meditation, breathing exercises, and grounding techniques, mindfulness-based therapies teach you how to anchor yourself in the “now,” reducing the physiological arousal associated with panic and stress. These mindfulness exercises are critical in our outpatient anxiety treatment.
Getting Started
Your Journey at The ARTS: What to Expect During Outpatient Anxiety Treatment
Entering treatment can feel intimidating, especially when you don’t know what the process entails. At The ARTS, we prioritize creating a safe, judgment-free environment from the moment you walk through our doors.
Your journey begins with a comprehensive assessment. Our clinical team reviews your medical history, current symptoms, and personal goals. This allows us to determine the appropriate level of care (PHP, IOP, or OP) and whether you require the primary mental health track or the dual diagnosis track.
You will work one-on-one with a licensed therapist to dive deep into the root causes of your anxiety. These sessions provide a private space to process trauma, discuss personal challenges, and tailor coping strategies to your specific needs.
Isolation feeds anxiety. Group therapy provides a powerful antidote by connecting you with a community of peers who understand exactly what you are going through. In these sessions, you share experiences, practice social skills, and learn from the successes and challenges of others.
For some, medication is a helpful tool to manage the physiological symptoms of anxiety, allowing therapy to be more effective. If applicable, our medical staff provides careful medication management, monitoring effectiveness and side effects to ensure you are on the right regimen.
Recovery is a dynamic process. We continuously monitor your progress and adjust your treatment plan as you grow. As you build resilience and skills, you may step down from PHP to IOP, and eventually to OP, gradually increasing your independence while maintaining a safety net of support.
