Frequently Asked Questions
Our outpatient drug rehab programs in the San Fernando Valley provide structured addiction treatment (including therapy, counseling, and education) while allowing you to live at home and maintain your daily responsibilities. Unlike residential programs, you attend scheduled sessions during the day or evening and return home afterward. Our outpatient format works well for people with moderate addiction, a stable home environment, and strong personal motivation.
It depends on the level of care you choose:
- Standard outpatient: Typically 1 to 2 sessions per week, lasting 1 to 2 hours each.
- Intensive outpatient program (IOP): 15 hours a week, either 3 days/week at 5 hours each session or 5 days/week at 3 hours each session.
- Partial hospitalization program (PHP): Up to 20 to 30 hours per week, with treatment most days of the week
Our IOP and PHP treatment tracks are offered both in-person and online for greater convenience. Your treatment team will recommend the appropriate level based on your individual needs and history.
Program length varies by individual. Most of our San Fernando Valley drug rehab programs run anywhere from 30 days to 6 months, though some people continue on a maintenance or aftercare basis for longer. Your treatment team will regularly assess your progress and adjust the timeline accordingly. Recovery is a personal journey; there is no one-size-fits-all timeline.
Our outpatient programs typically combine several evidence-based approaches:
- Individual therapy: One-on-one sessions with a counselor to address personal triggers, trauma, and coping skills.
- Group therapy: Facilitated group sessions that build community and shared accountability.
- Family therapy: Sessions that involve loved ones to rebuild relationships and improve communication.
- EMDR therapy: Specialized therapy sessions designed to help individuals work through traumatic experiences.
Yes. Your treatment is protected by federal confidentiality laws such as HIPAA.
Yes, depending on the program. This is one of the core advantages of outpatient treatment at our drug treatment center. Sessions are often scheduled in the morning or evening to accommodate work and school schedules. That said, it’s important to be honest with your care team about your schedule so they can help you balance your commitments without compromising your recovery.
The ARTS is in-network with many major insurance providers. Our team can help you navigate insurance verification. For the most up-to-date information about what may be covered and what would be considered out-of-pocket, please reach out to your insurance provider.
