When human beings experience trauma, severe life stressors or addiction, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. Valinda’s great passion is bringing healthy healing to people who have been through dramatic struggles and hopelessness. Inspired by her own personal journey of recovery, Valinda abandoned a successful culinary career as chef and restaurant owner to pursue a career as clinician, with the primary purpose of helping hurting people regain hope and recovery success. Having garnered over 5 years working with recovering individuals, Valinda is actively pursuing a BA in psychology at California State University Northridge. During her free time, Valinda volunteers at Orange County Rescue Mission’s Village of Hope, teaching and assisting this homeless program’s kitchen workers to cook and serve meals for 260 residents.
